Communication

This year we have designed a note that covers a great number of possible excursions. This is to alleviate the need to send back notes, particularly when you have more than one child, and each child is doing different things.

There will be times when a cost is associated with an excursion. In these instances, please send the required money in a marked envelope with their name, class and excursion listed. There is also the option of paying via EFTPOS at the office.

Thank you for how so many have been making contact with their class teacher. The team has been blessed with the words of encouragement and thoughtfulness in seeking more information.

You will also have noticed that you are receiving weekly/fortnightly emails from your class teacher. If you have any questions, please feel free to email your teacher. We want to ensure that our community stays in touch, even as we grow. And remember, that no question is “dumb” - and you may be the one to ask what someone else has thought but was unsure to ask.

Thank you for also making time to chat with the teachers. This kindness has allowed them to be prepared for each conversation and in a time when they can give you their full attention. After school is usually the best time for such conversations, or you can send an email, and request a different time, if it is available.

CAMP-IN

Due to our Community EASTER Event, our annual Camp In’ will NOT be held this Term. Stay Tuned!  Our future Newsletters will have more information about our Camp In.

Looking forward to Term 2

You will notice a new face around the school in the next few weeks.

Mrs Tiia Wright Baker will be joining our team, and assuming the role of Acting Principal for Term 2. As she prepares for term 2, she has been released from her current position and will be spending the next few weeks getting to know you, the students and our team.

Now, before anyone thinks that Mrs Anway will be disappearing into the “yellow abyss”, please do not worry!

As many would be aware, I have been serving at Brightwaters since 2008. With the upcoming move to our new site fast approaching, the CEM school Board acknowledged that it would be a good time for me to take some of my Long Service Leave and be refreshed and recharged for the next exciting phase of our school's journey. So, with their blessing, Mr Anway and I will take Term 2 to step out and do just that. (And it is incredibly timely with our daughter getting married in July.)

Mrs Wright Baker is currently leading her team at Medowie Christian School and has willingly offered to care for our school community during my leave. When we first started planning for who would be “just right” for our school, I wanted that person to love our school - the students and families, just as much as I do. Mrs Wright Baker wrote to me and voiced the delight in being able to “care for” our school. She will be sharing her expertise and continue developing our EDI learning strategies while she is with us.

The team will continue as they have begun, and what a great team they are indeed!

So, I have great confidence that she will be so wonderful and a blessing to each one of you. Please pray for her as she leads and serves our school, that she will be blessed through the care and kindness for which Brightwaters is known.

Please know that I will be praying for each one of you while I am away, and would value your prayers as we travel and enjoy God’s amazing creation.
